Leading financial services firm in Downtown Los Angeles (150 employees) is looking for a Human Resources Manager to oversee all HR functions and work closely with the VP of HR, HR Coordinator, and Payroll Manager. This role requires a true HR Generalist with strong analytical skills, compliance expertise, and a passion for optimizing HR operations.

Location: Downtown Los Angeles (fully in office)

Pay: $140K base with bonus and benefits

Key Responsibilities:

HRIS Operations:

  • Customize HRIS modules for benefits, timekeeping, performance management, and employee self-service.
  • Perform regular system audits and ensure data accuracy.
  • Train HR team and employees on HRIS functionalities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, policies, and compliance documents.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:

  • Partner with hiring managers to create compelling job descriptions.
  • Manage updates to the company careers page.
  • Collaborate with staffing agencies to source top talent.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires.

Payroll Support (Backup for Payroll Manager):

  • Process payroll accurately and in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Review and reconcile 401K contributions and payroll deductions.
  • Prepare bank transfers and payroll reports.
  • Address employee payroll-related inquiries.

Benefits Administration:

  • Reconcile and process monthly benefit invoices.
  • Ensure benefits updates are correctly communicated to carriers.
  • Assist employees with leave of absence (LOA) forms and benefits enrollment.

401K & Compliance:

  • Update employee records for 401K contributions.
  • Manage annual 401K census data and compliance filings.
  • Conduct audits and reconcile contribution records.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in human resources.

Proven experience in HRIS management, data analytics, and project management.

Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and best practices.
