About the role: Our team is looking for a Junior Revenue Accountant for a major E & P company located in the Energy Corridor of Houston, TX. This role would be ideal for someone wanting extended career growth and development within the US oil and gas accounting market, and learn not only the how’s of doing the job – but also the why your role is so important!
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable within or supporting an E & P oil and gas company
- Proficiency in solving problems, strong attention to detail, ability to follow-up and take notes!
- SAP system knowledge
- Understanding of technology like Copilot, Power Automate, and Power BI
Responsibilities:
- Record and track the status of onshore revenue payments
- Manage the retrieval, storage, coding and vendor inquiries
- Clear payments against relevant receivables and assist on documentation for audits
- Perform cash reconciliations and devise plans to resolve unreconciled items
- Compute gas plants’ shrink yield factors
- Assist Senior Accountants on wide range of month-end cycle journal entries
- Execute and monitor royalty payment voids
- Perform annual 1099-MISC testing and report processing for royalties
- Prepare monthly statements to distribute to royalty owners, partners and contacts
