Title: Senior Accountant

Location: New York, NY

Job Description: The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and play a crucial role in managing a company’s financial procedures and ensuring compliance. The role will work closely with the COO, CFO, Controller, and Operations team. This individual is responsible to attend to the day-to-day accounting needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Manage Financial Transactions – AR Management:

  • Assist in communication with Client accounting contacts
  • Creation and distribution of Client invoices in Accounting system
  • Oversee the collections all open invoices
  • Internal liaison with Sales team on Client accounts
  • AR Reporting and Management
  • Ensure accuracy of client accounts in Accounting system

Manage Financial Transactions – AP Management:

  • Input of Vendor invoices into Accounting system
  • Manage cash flow through weekly Accounts Payable reporting
  • Process weekly Wire/ACH payments
  • Liaison with Vendors on account related matters
  • Vendor account management and maintenance

Reconcile Accounts

  • Record cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts daily including performing daily cash analysis
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledger for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts
  • Perform general cost accounting & general bookkeeping work, including data entry and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents for transactions

Development

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the Accounting function
  • Streamline processes, develop, and implement best practices, and leverage automation tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA/BA in Accounting with at least 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting and Financial Analysis
  • Oracle/PeopleSoft accounting knowledge preferable
  • Solid proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent to Advanced proficiency in Excel is required
  • Attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy are required
  • Self-motivation, an ability to work independently and collaboratively as well as strong organizational skills are essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to interact with clients
  • Comfort working within a dynamic and fluid environment
  • Capable of providing insight from the financial processes and using this insight to inform the management team for corporate/strategic improvements

Primary Location: New York, NY

Salary Range: $100,000-130,000 USD/Annual
