About the Role
A London-based investment firm is looking for a Senior Hybrid Network & Cloud Engineer to join their infrastructure team. This role is central to maintaining and evolving a complex hybrid cloud and networking environment, supporting both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
You will work across Azure, networking, and security, ensuring a highly available and well-managed estate. The role requires strong experience in networking, firewalls, automation, and infrastructure as code, with a particular focus on Terraform. The firm has a well-established infrastructure-as-code approach, so proficiency in Terraform is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Management – Maintain and enhance a complex hybrid environment, supporting Azure and on-prem systems.
- Networking & Security – Manage firewalls (Palo Alto), switches, routing, and VPNs, ensuring security and optimal performance.
- Infrastructure as Code – Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform as part of a fully automated environment.
- Automation & Scripting – Use PowerShell to streamline deployments and operational processes.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Proactively identify and resolve issues across network and cloud infrastructure.
- Documentation & Process Improvement – Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in networking (firewalls, switches, routing, VPNs).
- Terraform proficiency is essential – all infrastructure is managed through code.
- Experience with Azure cloud services and related technologies.
- Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto firewalls.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
- Understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and M365.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, hedge funds, or asset management.
- Knowledge of endpoint management tools (SCCM, Intune, Defender).
- Experience with application deployment and patching.
