NICU is a well established Level 3 Unit providing a centre of excellence for babies requiring medical and neurological assessment and treatment, and a tertiary referral centre for the South west neonatal network. The unit has 34 cots, comprising of 8 ITU, 8 HDU and 18 SC, with an additional 10 cots on their Transitional Care Ward.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities
As a Bank Nurse, your responsibilities will include :
- Supporting all clinical areas of the Trust as and when required.
- Taking personal responsibility and accountability for ensuring that Trust and local policies and procedures are known and followed and ensuring duties are carried out in accordance with the advisory guidelines and practice set out in the NMC code.
- Being responsible for assessment, planning, Implementation and Evaluation of patient care.
- Taking responsibility for the supervision and guidance of other staff including health care assistants and students as required.
Applicants Must
- Hold RN (Adult or Paediatric) registration with current NMC license to practice
- Have relevant experience within the last 18-24 months – newly qualified staff require 15 months post qualification experience (3 months preceptorship and 12 months appropriate experience
- Have a drive to work hard, enthusiasm and the ability to commit to a 4-day induction programme if successful
- Have right to work in UK (with relevant Adaptation/ONP if applicable)
- Have the ability to commence work within 3 months from offer
