The Opportunity

Medivet Wantage is a converted old farm house situated one mile away from Wantage town centre. The historic Market Town has a wide variety of independent shops, restaurants, weekly markets and a monthly farmers market. The practice offers a full range of excellent veterinary services, including cat-only clinics and has been awarded a Silver Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).

The team is made up of 5 Vets, 4 RVN’s, 1 Student Veterinary Nurses and 2 part time Client Care Assistants and now has an exciting opportunity for a full time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team on a fixed term contract until the end of September 2025.

Wantage is lead by Partner and Veterinary Surgeon Daniel Varian and this role will consist of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day Monday to Friday with 1 in 6 full weekends also required.

Role Accountabilities

In This Role You Will

Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
Deliver patient monitoring and care.
Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
Dispense and check medication.
Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills And Experience

RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
