About the job

Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing, direct/manage assigned projects and other engineering activities in support of all manufacturing, warehousing, and administrative facilities, plus new facilities. Direct or coordinate the project design and management of capital projects, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budget and within project specifications. Coordinate effective communication between the various contractors, company divisions, or staff involved in projects.

Major Duties:

  • Coordinate and direct activities associated with the planning, designing and organizing of capital and maintenance projects from conception to completion.
  • Travel as necessary to all plants to provide management support as necessary.
  • Collaborate with and lead teams to deliver results on schedule and within budget limits.
  • Conduct periodic scope, schedules, and cost reviews using industry best practices, to identify needed adjustments.
  • Utilize maintenance and engineering knowledge to determine timelines and schedules; anticipate risks and costs related to the technical aspects of the project. Calculate ROIs as needed for technical projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors. Ensure all company policies are followed and oversee jobsite safety.
  • Provide strategic leadership and support for the Maintenance Managers to ensure reliability of manufacturing and utility equipment.
  • Complete periodic report updates and track, audit, and project labor hours.
  • Conduct inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement.
  • Suggest non-capital improved efficiency on existing processes.
  • Source equipment and purchase as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance, including a minimum of 7 years in a managerial role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and safety regulation pertinent to the industry.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of production workflow, space design, and construction permitting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate through prior projects strong engineering project management skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited direction.
