Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key executive responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, optimizing business processes, and ensuring the company achieves its long-term strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will implement strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining our core values of sustainability and service excellence. Familiarity with the EOS (entrepreneurial operating system) model highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of operations to assure high quality service execution for commercial and residential clients. Work productively with and manage the company’s existing leadership team – office manager, service manager, sales manager.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement strategic plans that align with business goals, focusing on growth, operational efficiency, and customer retention.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop department heads, ensuring teams are aligned, motivated, and equipped to deliver high-quality services.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to operational processes, technology systems, and workflows to enhance productivity and service delivery.
- Financial Management: Work closely with the CFO to create budgets, monitor expenses, analyze financial performance, and drive profitability.
- Business Development Support: Partner with sales and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities, develop new services, and expand market reach.
- Client Relationship Management: Champion a customer-first culture by ensuring high-quality service, effective issue resolution, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and integrate eco-friendly practices into all operational processes, aligning with the company’s core mission.
- Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver regular performance updates to the CEO and board of directors.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including pest control licensing, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of leadership experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior executive role. Experience in pest control, field services, or a related industry is preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple departments. Familiarity with EOS preferred.
- Operational Expertise: Demonstrated success in optimizing operational processes and driving business efficiency.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies that drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with operational software, CRM systems, and Google Suite.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field desired
- Certifications: Pest control licensing or willingness to obtain necessary certifications.
