Title: Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer/Infrastructure Windows Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Windows Engineering Lead
Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid Roles
Duration: 12-24+ Month (s) Extend or Convert based on performances
Hiring Manager Notes:
Work within Innovations Lab within a server room to rack/stack/cable infrastructure.
Candidate does not have to come from an Enterprise level
10+ yrs of VM Ware , either NSX or V-sphere, running the environment & building from the ground up
Lay down the VMware vSphere Suite & Cluster (Operations & Engineering Background)
VMWare NSX (formerly NSX-T/Data Center)
Windows and Linux but more Windows, server, AD, DNS & group policy
Scripting like PowerShell AND Automations – Terraform
Deploying Ops systems
Some cloud exp. either Azure, GCP or Public Cloud
Deployed VMware w/ NSXT
Lay down the VMware suite
Build out the VMware environment
Build Images
Terraform or PowerShell
Automate the VMware
Job Descriptions:
What you bring:
- A strong desire to be hands-on daily and provide operational and engineering support for a wide array of technology, encompassing physical hardware, operating systems, as well as software platforms.
- A passionate and self-driven desire to learn new approaches and new technologies and with direction be able to independently problem solve and apply critical thinking skills to address technical challenges.
- Proven ability to rapidly acquire new skills, adaptable, and eager to tackle new challenges.
- Ability to take direction and work autonomously on assigned objectives.
- Excels at working within a team environment to achieve shared goals.
- Proven experience and technical knowledge in configuring, maintaining, supporting, troubleshooting and problem solving related to each of these core Infrastructure domains:
- Compute
- Storage
- Networking
- Virtualization
A track record engineering and operationalizing cross-platform operating systems and platforms, including customizing/packaging, deploying, supporting, patching and maintaining:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2022
- Microsoft Windows 10/11
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, 9
Demonstrated advanced experience in deploying, configuring and running Microsoft Domain Services and related technologies:
- Active Directory Domain Services
- Group Policy Creation/Management
- Desired State Image, Configuration and Drift Management
- System Center / Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Windows Update Services
- Windows DNS
Firm operational and configuration knowledge of Virtualization and container technologies, especially:
- VMware vSphere Suite
- VMWare NSX (formerly NSX-T/Data Center)
Have working experience authoring automation scripts and using Infrastructure as Code tools, including:
- Terraform
- PowerShell
- BASH
Administration and Engineering experience within a cloud platform, especially Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience working at the tenant level / organization level.
- Hybrid Connectivity
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Google Workspace
Must be able to be onsite in Charlotte, NC when required or further necessary to perform physical work within the Innovation Labs environment.
- Ability to work within a server room to rack/stack/cable infrastructure.
- Ability to navigate above server racks or below sub-floors
Consider a plus:
- Administering and Configuration of Red Hat Satellite
- Experience with creating and using API endpoints.
- Engineering Certifications in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- OpenShift and OpenShift Container Service
- Experience with C# or other Higher-Level Object-Oriented languages
