Position Overview:

The Assistant Financial Analyst will support the finance team in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent numerical skills, and a good understanding of retail finance operations, including inventory management and expense control.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis:

  • Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to provide insights on key financial metrics.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Assist in creating detailed financial models to support business decisions.

Inventory and Cost Analysis:

  • Analyze inventory-related financial data to ensure proper stock control and minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to assess cost efficiency and margins.
  • Support the team in maintaining accurate inventory valuation reports.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all financial documents are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance checks.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of new tools and systems for improved financial management.

Reporting and Support:

  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the finance team as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in General Accounting, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Familiarity with inventory management processes is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
