MPG Architects is a 34-person firm designing a variety of projects for multi-family, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, and a wide variety of other projects. We have a great office atmosphere and team!
JOB DESCRIPTION
Approximately 30 hours per week, in-person in our office. Must be proficient in QuickBooks, minimum of 2 years experience.
Location & Schedule:
- In Office Monday through Thursday with remote option on Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Management:
- Manage daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and balance sheets.
- Assist with month-end and fiscal year-end closing (June 30).
- Payroll:
- Process semi-monthly payroll via ADP, including 401k and benefit deductions.
- Issue bonus checks and ensure compliance.
- Invoicing:
- Assist Project Managers with accurate invoicing by entering job related expenses before deadlines.
- Support accounts receivable and collections.
- Tax Compliance:
- File CAT taxes and make payments.
- Prepare quarterly federal income tax payments and BWC true-up reports.
- Reconciliation:
- Reconcile credit cards and bank accounts monthly.
- Maintain records for vehicle loans.
- Expenses:
- Process employee expense reimbursements and maintain billable rates.
- Reporting:
- Prepare unclaimed funds reports and lien waivers.
- Generate general journal entries (GJEs) as needed.
- Assist with calendar year-end closing processes and 1099 issuance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Controller, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks On-line.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Accounting degree preferred, not required.
