Medical Assistant Needed in Salisbury, MD!

Pay Rate: $18-$23/ hour depending on experience

Schedule: Monday- Friday Days (40 hours/week)

Contract: Permanent Placement

Location: Plastic Surgery offices in Salisbury, MD/ Berlin, MD/ Millsboro, DE

Requirements: Maryland CMA License, BLS Certification, 5 years’ experience

JOB SUMMARY: Performs a number of functions as ordered by physicians and mid level providers for the purpose of diagnosing and treating patients. Assist in patient education regarding medications and what to expect after treatment or surgery. Acts as a liaison between the patient and the providers in the office.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Good problem solving and analytical skills.

2. Excellent knowledge of dermatology and skin care treatment.

3. Demonstrates sound judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

4. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).

5. Able to maintain confidentiality with all aspects of information in accordance with Practice, State and federal regulations (HIPAA).

6. Ability to work as a team member.

8. Empathetic with patient needs and concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Communication & Patient Care

· Acquaints all new patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed. Inform patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed and how they will be affected during the tests.

· Obtains patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, family history, and history of allergies and medications.

· Answers telephone inquiries from patients, concerning their treatment or care.

· Perform follow up calls to patients, as necessary.

· Other duties as assigned.

2. Administrative

· Orders and maintains proper inventory of patient care supplies.

· Enters patient medical and social history into their electronic medical record. Enter medications and allergies and other pertinent information into their file.

· Document each patient interaction in their Electronic Medical Record.

· Support front desk as needed with patient flow.
