Job Title: Nurse Manager – Emergency Department

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11213

Shift: 4 PM to 12 AM, 5×8

Duration: 3 Months with high possibility of extension

Pay Range: $70 to $80/Hour.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Emergency Department.

This role assumes 24-hour responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care while fostering an environment of collaboration and respect among healthcare team members.

The Nurse Manager is accountable for planning, directing, and leading nursing care within the department. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required.

Responsibilities:

Develop long-term unit staffing schedules and ensure adequate daily coverage.

Monitor and improve operational performance metrics, including agency and overtime costs, vacancy, and turnover rates.

Oversee staff workflow, orientation, training, and development within the emergency department.

Promote a collaborative team approach in caring for ED and trauma patients.

Address and resolve patient, physician, and staff concerns or complaints.

Monitor patient volume, staff performance, and customer satisfaction scores, implementing improvement plans as needed.

Conduct monthly staff meetings to address goals, performance metrics, and staff concerns.

Support quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring within the department.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with management/supervisory responsibilities in an Emergency Department.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and handle complex situations professionally.

Education:

Master’s degree in nursing (required).

Licensed and Certificates:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required); TNCC certification (preferred).
