Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned Project Lead to join our team at Triton. Reporting to the Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects from initiation through to completion. You will be accountable for ensuring that projects are properly chartered, planned, and executed within agreed-to parameters for scope, cost, schedule, and quality.

 

In addition, you possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively. As the Project Lead, you will expertly collaborate with key stakeholders, your peers, and your team to drive and support optimal delivery for the company as we continue to evolve and mature our practices. Your excellent communication skills will be essential as you lead and facilitate project-related meetings throughout the project lifecycle, including project kick-off, status reviews, business requirements workshops, and project governance. Additionally, you will assist in the development of technical specifications and workflows, ensuring that the solutions developed meet the intended needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

Lead project planning sessions, including defining goals, scope, deliverables, and timelines.

Develop comprehensive project plans that outline project tasks, resources, and timelines.
Coordinate and manage project team members, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear.
Monitor project progress (schedule, budget, scope) and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation plans as needed.
Experience in creating all key project governance documents, including project charters, business requirement documents, functional and non-functional requirement documents, project schedules, project plans, communication plans, user acceptance testing plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
Demonstrated project management skills, applying project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) to assist staff with information systems projects and programs.
Engage subject matter experts to build comprehensive project plans, accounting for all required activities and developing meaningful assumptions and accurate risks.
Embed change management components into plans as required to ensure successful readiness and subsequent solution adoption.
Lead procurement and manage vendors to ensure successful project completion.
Establish and leverage meaningful governance models, providing timely status updates for awareness, escalation, or decision-making as needed.
Conduct successful project closure, completing lessons learned and ensuring a sound transition to operations once a project is complete.
Contribute to the elevation of the Program Management Office (PgMO) relative to methodology improvement, processes, tools, and templates, as well as skills and talent development.
Provide effective leadership on projects, building a project team culture that reflects Triton values and the PgMO culture.
Escalate project issues and risks to the program manager and project sponsor in a timely manner.
Stay ahead of key developments in the industry and among competitors to elevate Project Management/Program Management discipline and delivery capabilities.
Perform other project-related tasks, as assigned, including business analyst responsibilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

University or College Degree
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Lead/Manager role in a PMO environment is required
3 years of experience in a Business Analyst or a similar role is preferred
5+ years of demonstrated hands on experience in IT projects
Ability to assume end to end ownership of projects and responsibilities
Attention to detail and ability to work well as a team player and independently
Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
Ability to handle multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines
Demonstrated proficiency in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Previous experience operating in Waterfall and Agile environments and exposure to both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
Advanced communication, negotiation, influencing and facilitation skills; ability to create ‘win-win’ outcomes and to obtain support of executive-level management and elicit cooperation and consensus across the business
Demonstrated ability to collaborate as well as lead across a matrix organization to execute on strategies, influence change and deliver results
Proven ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with business leaders, peers, clients and team will work transparently and cooperatively with cross-functional teams, effectively engaging all pertinent stakeholders, both internal and external
Challenges the status quo and exhibits a mindset of creativity, determination and an energetic drive to succeed. Highly motivated, an independent thinker and has a proven track record of setting and meeting aggressive goals and actions plans, both as an individual and with a team
Proficiency with Microsoft suite, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
Must be in Canada; preferably located in GTA, ON
Must have worked in Canada for at least 2 years
PMP or CBAP is an asset
General knowledge of background screening processes is preferred
