Community Action Marin is seeking a dynamic and driven Financial Well-Being Manager to join our Economic Justice (EJ) team.

Job Summary

The Financial Well-Being Manager will operationalize CAM’s services and initiatives that build community members’ knowledge and capacity to achieve financial mobility. These include financial, credit, and career coaching, income tax assistance, and a range of community facing trainings and workshops for target populations, including older adults and opportunity youth. This position will supervise and support a team of volunteers and 3+ full-time staff. They will also strengthen partnerships with organizations across the county to integrate services and optimize participant outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Management and Staff Support

  • Ensure the success of SparkPoint Marin’s comprehensive financial, credit, and career coaching model.
  • Supervise 3+ full time staff, providing resources and training to ensure high quality and impactful coaching and referral services, monitoring caseload, and ensuring compliance with data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Support a team of 6+ long-term volunteers by acting as day-to-day point of contact for questions, assistance and service coordination.
  • Enhance onboarding processes for new volunteers and update training materials as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly meetings with coaching staff and volunteers.
  • Act as first point of contact for partner referrals and partner and client feedback, including collection of success stories and grievances management.
  • Develop and vet engaging financial literacy workshop content for diverse audiences, including PowerPoint presentations, evaluation forms, and handouts.
  • Oversee the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in partnership with the VITA Site Coordinator and prepare tax returns for clients as needed.
  • Lead the implementation of program enhancements and monitoring of key performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement.

Data & Reporting

  • Contribute to data integrity within assigned programs through data quality assurance.
  • Run data reports and facilitate individual and team conversations to identify gaps and areas of improvement to ensure measurable objectives are achieved.
  • Support Director with EJ reporting requirements, including narratives, data, budgets, surveys, etc.

External Partnerships

  • Coordinate outreach for agency pop-ups and events with appropriate CAM departments and colleagues.
  • Support Director with community and partner inquires and coordinate prospective volunteer screenings, orientation, and onboarding.
  • Support coordination and logistics for subcontract workplans and satellite services, i.e. Legal Aid of Marin, Center for Domestic Peace, Front Porch.

Administration & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate systems and improve customer service through improved intake and referral systems.
  • Identify cross-agency workflow challenges and provide solutions for improvement.
  • Partner with Client Intake Specialists to ensure timely communication and adoption of best practices for supporting clients with EJ service access.
  • Support development of marketing and outreach materials, annual and impact reports, social media presence, and community presentations.
  • Prepare monthly department credit card transmittals.
  • Provide updates and content for grant proposals and reports.
  • Co-plan annual department retreat with a focus on team building and goal setting aligned with agency’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a social services or nonprofit agency, including responsibility for community outreach, program coordination, and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of United Way Bay Area SparkPoint Initiative and/or financial coaching models desired.
  • Experience with the asset building field and/or financial services sector.
  • Experience with VITA program desired.
  • Deep understanding – and ability to articulate – the role equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging play in our work.
  • Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills and the capacity to integrate diverse objectives with a high level of attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Excellent listening, communication, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing data.
  • Experience working with coalitions and diverse partners.
  • Experience in supporting and mentoring staff to provide consistent, high-quality client services.
  • Impeccable personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of participant data.
  • Experience and comfortability working with low-income people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have experience with customer relationship management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team as well as to take initiative and work independently.
